One fortunate hunter will have the experience and thrill of a lifetime on this late summer 10-day, 1x1 guided, polar bear and Atlantic walrus combination hunt donated by Shane Black and John Sauro of Canada North Outfitting. This unique spot and stalk polar bear hunt is carried out by ATV with your Inuit guide glassing both inland and shoreline retreats during the ice free Arctic summer period, while the Atlantic walrus portion is done by boat traveling to known rocky island haul-out areas. Method of take is rifle. Buyer must schedule hunt with outfitter for open dates in August of 2019 or 2020. Either Shane Black or John Sauro of Canada North Outfitting will accompany the hunter and photograph the entire adventure producing a personalized souvenir book. Canada North pioneered Arctic big game outfitting in 1981 and has maintained a 100% harvest success rate on this combination polar bear and walrus hunt throughout its history. As of August 2015, the IUCN Red List reports that the worldwide polar bear population estimate is established at 26,000 animals with over 17,000 or two-thirds located in the Canadian Arctic. However, with 2017 population data updates of two sub-populations, the total world estimate is closer to 28,500 polar bears. Canada is and continues to be a proven world leader in the management, research, monitoring and conservation of polar bears. The world's polar bear population has actually more than doubled in number since the 1960's. Canada North Outfitting will provide a detailed hunt and travel itinerary with final instructions and gear list well in advance of the hunt date. Shane or John will greet the buyer upon arrival at the Winnipeg International Airport. The package includes first and last night room accommodations in Winnipeg, round-trip Arctic flight and hotel accommodations with all meals and incidentals, general administration and flight booking fees including a flight itinerary change and the Canadian GST sales tax. The successful buyer will also receive upon purchase of this hunt package, an authentic soapstone carving of a Polar Bear hand crafted by an Inuit artist from Nunavut. Not Included is Nunavut hunting license and polar bear tag, Arctic Wildlife Research Fund, shipping of trophies, taxidermy, expediting costs and gratuities. Current law forbids the importation of hides and skulls of both polar bear and Atlantic walrus into the USA or Mexico. Canada North Outfitting will arrange storage of trophies.
