Glacier Guides Inc. and Dustin Roe of Backcountry BC and Beyond have partnered to donate a 10-day, 2x1 guided Western Canadian Moose hunt for 1 hunter in the Cassiar Mountains of British Columbia. Method of take is rifle. Book your hunt for 2020/2021 dates TBD based on availability with Outfitter/Client schedules. With several shared waterways with the Yukon, we have the population and genetics for some of the world's biggest Canadian Moose. With bulls averaging well over 53', and several moose over 60', each year, it's no wonder that Cassiar is becoming the place to fulfill your dream moose hunt. To quote one of their hunters, 'I have seen more moose in the first hour of this hunt than I did in ten days of hunting in the Yukon. This is an amazing place!' On this boat hunt you will travel the lakes and/or rivers while calling for moose; you may also take short hikes up to vantage points and meadows. The success rate and trophy size on these hunts is the same as our horseback hunts, but the hunt will be less physically demanding. Generally, these hunts are booked as two hunters with one guide, making them a great choice for those looking to hunt with a friend or family member. One hunter per guide can also be arranged for those wishing to hunt alone. Because of the density of moose in our lakes region, this is a perfect place for our dedicated archery clients or the older guys who may just like to have a relaxing break from the busy world. They easily compete with the Yukon for quality on average and by classification of being Canadian Moose, your chances at a record book moose are more likely here than any other region. Hunter will need to get to Boya Lake, B.C. base camp (one hour drive south of Watson Lake, Yukon, usually via commercial flight to Whitehorse Yukon), where a charter plane will fly you into your hunt location from their base camp. Accommodations are either cabin or comfortable wall tent with wood stove and cots. Not included and payable by the hunter are license ($180), tag ($250), wildlife conservation fee - GOABC ($200), air charter ($2,000), meat handling/cutting ($400), and gratuities. One additional hunter may join for $18,500 + fees. Non-hunter is $3500 plus charter. Arrival/departure point is Whitehorse, Yukon.
